HUHN WORKS is an independent design and development studio in the Fichtelgebirge, Germany. I run it as an industrial designer, after Doshi Levien in London and years as a design director. HUHN started in 2011 as my bicycle brand. Today we design and engineer products for others and ourselves: bicycles, furniture, printed metal parts, apparel. My diploma project in 2011 was the first documented bicycle frame with 3D printed metal lugs. Moorhuhn won the Purmundus Challenge in 2020. Jersey Giant won the New Builder Award at Bespoked 2022. We have developed printed parts with Standert, Reynolds and BASF Forward AM. Our design language: form shaped by function. Honest materials. Proportion first. Objects you can understand, use hard and repair. Shoes are a new object and a familiar method. Fifteen years of printed metal, where every gram needs a reason. Zellerfeld lets us bring that discipline to something people wear every day. @huhncycles
