About TREX
"TREX" is a one-piece, fully 3D-printed shoe, fabricated using Zellerfeld’s platform. Modelled from authentic paleontological data, the design emphasises anatomical fidelity and instant visual recognition. Surface textures replicate natural bone grain and fossilised wear, while the silhouette preserves the recognisable proportions of a Tyrannosaurus skull. Internally, the shoe features a printed lattice structure that maintains strength while minimising material use. More than a replica, the piece functions as an artefact of speculative design—bridging ancient history with emergent technology.

"TREX" explores the fusion of prehistoric legacy and modern manufacturing. Drawing inspiration from the formidable Tyrannosaurus Rex, the design reimagines the creature’s iconic skull through the lens of digital craftsmanship. The goal: to resurrect ancient anatomy using the most contemporary of tools—fully 3D-printed technology. Brought to life through Zellerfeld’s advanced fabrication system, the TREX is more than a relic; it is a sculptural expression of evolution itself.
